Duncan Mansion

Governor Joseph Duncan House Museum
Jacksonville, Illinois

JLA led a team of specialty consultants in the compilation of a four-volume historic structure report for the Governor Duncan Mansion historic site.  The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and served as the Illinois Governor’s residence in the 1840s.  Funding was provided by a State of Illinois DCCA grant. It appropriated funds for a historic structure report (HSR) and stipulated that the document be prepared using standards set by the Department of the Interior. Condition assessment included forensic analysis, investigative probes, archeological study of the site, and finishes analyses. Resulting recommendations provide the basis for future preservation work.
