JLA served as historic preservation consultants for the restoration of the Mies van der Rohe-designed Everett M. Dirksen and John C. Kluczynski federal buildings. Working with a large construction firm and preservation officials, JLA assisted in the development of preservation guidelines for the exterior envelope of these structures, including an appropriate coating system, window salvage/replacement limits, and cleaning techniques.
