As part of their IDIQ contract with HDR/NAVFAC, JLA served as preservation consultants and designers for the new Naval Museum exhibit commemorating this early example of curtain wall design. Innovationsin curtain wall design and the idea of universal space were the major themes influencing the design of the Building 521 artifact. JLA designed an occupiable three-dimensional space in which these conceptsmay be observed and appreciated by museum patrons. JLA also consulted on preservation of the artifact components and on design and construction of a professional model of the building and its site.
