JOHNSON • LASKY ARCHITECTS was incorporated in 1992.  The individual practice of the principals extends over a 30-year period.  Their project experience is extensive, ranging in scope from new design projects such as office buildings, performing arts centers and museum additions to the restoration and rehabilitation of all building types. They have a special expertise in bringing together planning, engineering and architectural disciplines for each project.

Walker C. Johnson and Larry M. Lasky and their associates provide professional expertise in architectural design, planning and historic preservation.

Since our founding, the firm's architectural practice has consisted of work for universities, private industry, religious institutions and local, state and federal government agencies whose projects range from $200 thousand to $250 million in size.

JLA is well versed in the techniques required to diagnose, stabilize, repair and restore exterior building envelopes and are very experienced in all facets of interior rehabilitation, reuse and restoration. We are adept at working with both small and large institutions and are accustomed to tailoring a finished product that will be well suited to your needs and requirements.

Our restoration capabilities are well represented in both institutional and private developments.  We have completed restoration projects, materials conservation studies, feasibility studies, planning documents, and design and construction documents in the past for clients such as The Chicago Architecture Foundation, The Museum of Science & Industry, the Unity Temple Restoration Foundation, and the Illinois Department of Transportation.
